PILI KOTHI

A building similar to the judges Court at Himanchal Pradesh stands majestically in the middle of the city popularly known as Pili Kothi. Build by Maharaja Gulab for his sister in 1924. This building has a very typical European Architecture of a castle. The long neglect of this building was showing and when the Baghela Museum was transferred from the Fort Rewa.

THE BAGHELA MUSEUM IN REWA MP

THE BAGHELA MUSEUM

Not many have the heart to spare the rich & personal gifts or valuables brought by the near and dears and put them to be displayed in the galleries for the crowed to see! Late Maharaja was not a greedy man. He decided to place his Royal belongings to the people to see & be proud of the rich Heritage!

The Baghela Museum mirrors the richness of character of the Rulers of this dynasty & not the pompousness of kingship! This Museum could be divided in to 4 categories:

A. Arms Gallery:

This has many types of swords & weapons used at that period. The old guns & also the new ones. Most famous is the "pen-pistol" & double barrel .22!

B. Mohan Gallery:

This has the entire history about the White Tigers & the capture of Mohan, till his death.

WHITE Tiger MOHAN

C. Paintings & Rare Collections:

The paintings & rare collections are a treat to watch! The painting of Maharaja Raghuraj Singhji, Maharaja Gulab Singhji & Late H.H. Martand Singhji is unique! The throne & the character of the "Durbar Hall" is of a very intricate nature.

D. The Stone Gallery:

The rich sculptures left by the Kalchuri Kings are a treat to see at this Fort Museum. Spread all over the Fort, this can offer a 3 to 4 hour observation to any keen and ardent observer. The Gurgi Gate, the 2 stone gate on the front of the Fort & the rich stone gallery inside the museum & Jagganath Temple offer a feast.

IN INDIA THE FIRST WHITE TIGER BIRTH PLACE

BANDHAVGADH    WHITE TIGER
Located in the Vindhya range in central India this park was formed on 1968. Today it holds the highest density of tigers due to his rich evergreen forest with trees like Sal & Bamboos with well spread water bodies & grasslands all over the park. The park has in all about 32 mammals, 250 species of birds and about 72 types of butterflies. The undulating hills give an additional charm to the terrain of  Bandhavgarh. The Park has a very rich history and the ancient caves proves that this was an ideal place for many sages, pilgrims and rulers who preferred to come and dwell here. The caves in the lower part of the park have very rare inscriptions of Brahmi language used between 4th to 9th century and also the evidences of the traders who visited this place.

Indian independence movement

The Indian independence struggle incorporated the efforts by Indians to liberate the region from British rule and form the nation-state of India. It involved a wide spectrum of Indian political organizations, philosophies, and rebellions between 1857 and India's emergence as a unified nation-state on August 15,1947. The initial Indian Rebellion of 1857 was sparked when soldiers serving in the British East India Company's British Army mutinied and Indian kingdoms rebelled against the British. After the revolt was crushed, the British partitioned the region into British India and the Princely States. They tried to develop a class of educated elites, whose political organizing sought Indian political rights and representation. However, increasing public disenchantment with the British authority — their curtailing of Indian civil liberties (such as the Rowlatt Act), political rights, and culture as well as their avoidance of basic issues facing common Indians and an essential nonacceptance of foreign occupation — led to an upsurge in Revolutionary movement for Indian independence aimed at overthrowing the European colonial powers, particularly the British.
